WALKING YOUR DOG Stop The Pulling And Tugging And Discover 5 Simple Training Techniques That Works Wonders! The Easy Pet Care Series Book 1 edition by Mark Hamilton Crafts Hobbies Home eBooks

I have a large two-year-old huskita, so it's imperative that he doesn't drag me (or anyone else!) down the street. I put a few key tips into practice after reading this ebooklet and saw a distinct improvement by just third walk.

A note regarding the first review: The 'find an area and wait ten minutes' was in reference to a common situation whereby a dog will refuse to 'eliminate' because he has learned that doing so means the end of the walk... but then ends up going poo in the house instead. The author's solution for this issue makes sense to me, so I think the reviewer's frustrations may have been due to the need for a good editor. I found some of the wording a bit awkward, but the core content has already helped me tremendously.

A note to the author: Thank you for your advice, and I look forward to the rest of your series! If you are by chance interested in editing services, I would be glad to do it without charge. I liked this book and thought it had pretty good information and tips. I would recommend to begginer dog owners, or people just getting into training their dog to walk loose lease. Otherwise I think most trainers and dog owners know this. Still was a good read in my opinion
This book talks about walking a dog if you are potty training. My boxer that I just adopted is already potty trained, she just needs to be leash trained. For this reason this book wad not very helpful.
This is a short read, the application will take a while.
The advice is straight forward and easily understood.
I will be putting these suggestions to work soon and look forward to having a more enjoyable dog, during our walks.
Good job.
Dusty my Australian Kelpie was quite good on the lead but had some of the sheep/cattle dog characteristics of trying to herd other animals. He also had some nervousness with passing traffic. Since utilising some of the advice Dusty has improved .

I recently visited my daughter and walked her dog in tandem with mine. My daughter's dog Ringo a Cocker Spaniel was quite difficult on the lead, but after a week of applying some of the knowledge gained from the book he showed significant improvement.
Thought I was getting a book and not a phamplet. My dog is a good walking until it it time to come home. Then he sits down or put on his brakes. The phamplet concentrated more on dog control on a leash but not getting him to return home.
The author goes right to the point. He doesn't waste you time giving you a lot of psychobabble that you can find on the Internet. Each paragraph describes and scenario and offers a good suggestion. The best part of the book is that it's humble. At the end, he admits that dogs are like finger prints. They don't all learn the same way. He does not peddle his method as THE METHOD.
This book is based on the principles of behaviour modification and describes how to use positive and negative reinforcement to elicit appropriate behaviour from your dog. It is straight forward and easy to understand and, although it is short, it does address the issues as stated.

Just a note for the author from someone with a pet peeve 'your' vs 'you're'. Sigh.
